Fall River sets new high in daily confirmed cases of COVID-19 breaking yesterday’s record high, 141 cases overall

The City of Fall River has seen an additional 25 confirmed cases of COVID-19. An increase from yesterday’s total.

According to Mayor Coogan, there are 141 confirmed cases in Fall River.

“Easter Sunday and we jump up 25 more confirmed cases to 141. Just to give everyone a little scale Brockton has close to 600 confirmed cases. Say a prayer for them also. Strong and smart if we work together.”

Fall River had seen the biggest one day total since the pandemic began with 19 confirmed cases released on Saturday.

The Fall River Health Department is in contact with the individuals who have tested positive as well as their contacts. These individuals are in isolation and quarantine.

Mayor Coogan’s Office continues to encourage residents to practice social distancing. This means keeping a distance of 6 feet between individuals. Continue to wash your hands on a regular basis, clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces, and stay home as much as possible, especially when you are sick. These measures will help to limit the spread of COVID-19.

City Information:
Library: While the Library remains closed until May 4th the return receptacles are also closed. Please hold onto any items you have. There will be no fines associated with your library items during this period of closure.

Bill pay: Residents are urged to pay bills using the online bill paying systems. Residents can also mail bills or utilize the drop box on the Third Street entrance of Government Center.

Government Center, the Public Libraries, Senior Centers and Schools will remain closed until May 4th.
