Fall River sees decrease in daily COVID-19 confirmed cases after record day, many have recovered
After Fall River set a high in COVID-19 cases in one day, the city saw 6 more cases.
According to Mayor Coogan, there are 97 confirmed cases in Fall River on Friday and of those, 26 have recovered and 71 remain active. There are 1,086 confirmed cases in Bristol County and 20,974 statewide.
“Remember to keep social distance, but get out and take a walk. Stay strong and smart.”
The Fall River Health Department is in contact with the individuals who have tested positive as well as their contacts. These individuals are in isolation and quarantine.
Mayor Coogan’s Office continues to encourage residents to practice social distancing. This means keeping a distance of 6 feet between individuals. Continue to wash your hands on a regular basis, clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces, and stay home as much as possible, especially when you are sick. These measures will help to limit the spread of COVID-19.
City Information:
Library: While the Library remains closed until May 4th the return receptacles are also closed. Please hold onto any items you have. There will be no fines associated with your library items during this period of closure.
Bill pay: Residents are urged to pay bills using the online bill paying systems. Residents can also mail bills or utilize the drop box on the Third Street entrance of Government Center.
Government Center, the Public Libraries, Senior Centers and Schools will remain closed until May 4th.
The City is also looking for volunteers when and if they are needed. If you know of any medical professionals who are interested in volunteering, individuals can sign up with MA Responds via The Health Professionals Volunteer Website.
