Fall River sees 4 additional COVID-19 deaths as cases pass 2,000

Fall River saw additional cases of COVID-19 in Monday’s report.

The City received a report of 17 new cases, according to the Mayor’s Office. This makes the COVID-19 case total in Fall River increase to 2,013. 6 new cases were reported on Friday 9/11, 5 new cases were reported for Saturday 9/12, 5 new cases for Sunday 9/13, and 1 new case on Monday 9/14.

The Fall River Health Department is in contact with the individuals who have tested positive as well as their contacts.

The death toll from the coronavirus in Fall River increased to 131 as the City was notified of 4 additional fatalities.

A combined 21 cases were reported for Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday of last week. On Wednesday, 1 case was reported. 13 cases of COVID-19 were added on Thursday.

The City continues to encourage residents to practice social distancing. This means keeping a distance of 6ft between individuals. Continue to wash your hands on a regular basis, clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces, and stay home as much as possible, especially when you are sick, and wear a face covering when out in public. These measures will help to limit the spread of COVID-19.

The City wants to remind residents that Government Center Reopened to the Public on June 8 by appointment only.
