Fall River Public Schools appoints middle school principal as Assistant Superintendent/Chief Academic Officer
FALL RIVER — Superintendent Tracy Curley has announced that Brian Raposo has been appointed as Assistant Superintendent/Chief Academic Officer of the Fall River Public Schools.
Raposo is a long-time Fall River educator, having served as a teacher, department chair and principal within the district since 2006. He began his new position on July 16.
“For nearly 20 years, Brian has effectively served our community, its students and families as an educator and leader,” said Superintendent Curley. “He has continually demonstrated an unwavering commitment to providing evidence-based, high-quality instruction for every student, which is a trait he will bring to the entire district in this new role.”
Raposo has served as the principal of Edmond P. Talbot Middle School since 2018. He started his career in 2005 as a special education teacher in Southborough before coming to Fall River in 2006 as a math teacher at Kuss Middle School He became the mathematics department chair in 2012 before being named principal at the A.S. Letourneau Elementary School in 2015.
“I am honored to be promoted to Assistant Superintendent/Chief Academic Officer of the district. I look forward to working with Superintendent Curley to advance the district,” said Raposo. “Fall River has been an excellent district to work for and I am eager to see what more I can bring to the community in my new role.”
Raposo holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology and Spanish from the College of the Holy Cross and a master’s in special education from Simmons College. He also obtained a certificate of advanced graduate study in curriculum and instruction from Lesley University.

I taught at Kuss Middle School when Brian taught Math there. I taught at Letourneau School when Brian was the principal.I have the utmost respect for Mr. Raposo. I’m sure he will do an excellent job in this new position.

Mr Raposo was a excellent principal I think he will be amazing sad day for Talbot but great for the district I hope whoever is appointed to run talbot runs it as well as he did he was the perfect mix of fair, structure, kindness, respect & discipline he took concerns from parents seriously & treated them with respect always made himself available congratulations Mr Raposa
