Fall River Public Library has full schedule this week including Kid’s Fire Safety House
October is here, and the Fall River Public Library counting down the days to Halloween with a full scare schedule! Here’s what’s happening the week of October 10 – October 15, 2022.
Take-home Crafts: Starting Tuesday morning, October 11, kids can pick up a Ghost Magnet Craft in the Children’s Room. Take-home crafts will be available all week in the Children’s Room while supplies last. Crafts are sponsored by Debby and Richard Danner.
Storytimes: Weekly Preschool Storytimes are held on Tuesdays at 11 am for children ages 3 and up. Registration is not required. Another storytime, Play & Learn, is offered Wednesdays at 10 am. This group is offered through the Fall River School Department. To register your child, please contact Miss Shannon, sdunbar@fallriverschools.org.
Monday Movies: Matinee movies are offered every Monday at 1 pm in the Meeting Room with our new surround sound system. This month, we are showing the musical biopic Elvis on Monday, October 17. Coming soon: superhero movie Thor: Love & Thunder on Monday, October 24; and creepy thriller The Black Phone on Monday, October 31. There will be no movie on the holiday, October 10, because the library is closed.
Here are some of the spooky highlights for the rest of the week:
TUESDAY, 10/11: The Beyblades group meets at 4 pm in the Meeting Room. Kids are welcome to bring their own tops to compete with or try the library’s Beyblades.
THURSDAY, 10/13: Kids age 4 and up can play interactive games with BEAM from 4-5 pm in the Meeting Room. Registration not required.
SATURDAY, 10/15 is a busy day at the library! The Kid’s Fire Safety House, sponsored by the Fall River Fire Department, will make a visit outside the library from 10 am – 2 pm. Kids can stop in to learn about fire safety, and can also watch the Monster Circus in the library at 11 am! This fun puppet performance is sponsored by the Fall River Cultural Council.
More spooky Halloween events for kids, teens, and adults are planned for October.
