Where can you find Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, Darth Vader, and other comic book heroes and villains hanging out on a Saturday in May? At the Fall River Public Library, of course! On Saturday, May 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the library will host its second annual Comic-Con, featuring comic book and sci-fi characters, comics creators, games, face painting, a costume contest, scavenger hunt, book displays, and a super raffle! Activities will take place at the Main Library, 104 North Main Street. This family-friendly event is FREE and open to all ages.

Fans are encouraged to attend in costume. The library will also have many costumed heroes and villains available to pose for pictures with fans. Whether you love Marvel, DC, Star Wars, or other fandoms, you’ll find something at the Comic-Con that will delight and engage you. Among the guests will be comic writer Sam Gafford, co-author of the H.P. Lovecraft graphic novel biography Some Notes on a Nonentity, comic book illustrators Craig Shepard and Eric Lebow, and the folks from Game King comics & games.

Since Batman, the Dark Knight, made his debut in Detective Comics in May, 1939, this is Batman’s 80th birthday! Join us for a celebration of this bat-tastic milestone.
