Fall River, Mass. – The Fall River Pride Committee has announced events the
committee will be hosting locally for this year’s Pride Month.

Before June, on May 25th, they will be presenting “Spaghetti & Sequins” which will be hosted by the Church of the Holy Spirit at 160 Rock Street, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. It will feature a drag show and pasta dinner as a fundraiser for the committee’s upcoming events.

FRPC is kicking off June with their annual Pride Festival on June 2nd, which is going to be at the City Gates on Ponta Delgada Boulevard for the 2nd year in a row. It will be held from noon to 4:00 p.m. and include food trucks, vendors, music, and live performances. A few hours after the festival concludes, FRPC will be hosting a 21+ event at The Cultural Center at 205 South Main Street, from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

The committee’s annual 18+ prom night will also be held at the Cultural Center on Friday, June 28th from 7:00 p.m. to 11 p.m. where they will be crowning this year’s royal court.

In addition to their own festival, FRPC will be supporting and participating in other local events. They will be tabling at New Bedford Pride on June 1st, Taunton Pride on June 8th, and Fairhaven Pride on June 9th to foster LGBTQ+ visibility and advocacy throughout the region.

“Our theme this year is Bigger Better Bolder Gayer! As our visibility grows, we want to continue to celebrate the progress the LGBTQ community has made. There are so many bits of misinformation about our community. We are excited to stand proud and remind people we are just about love, diversity, and togetherness”, says the committee’s president, Sean Connell.

In addition to the events held, FRPC also wants to be a resource for the local LGBTQ community.

    What a fantastic event!

The real conversation we need to have is about the empowerment of our LGBTQ+ children and creating equity in our schools when it comes to inclusive participation.

We need to integrate our sports teams to be gender neutral, offer more required classes about LBGTQ+ history, and hire more LGBTQ+ educators, police, fire, and city employees.

These events show the depravity of man and give the opportunity for Christians to come amongst these confused hurting broken people that God has made them in his image and they are to reflect God in the way that they were born

Really Tom? Because I am a lesbian. I pray every day. I go to a Protestant- the one sponsoring Fall River Pride and the drag show. These are church sanctioned events buddy. You know why? Because you are right in one thing. God made me and God does not make mistakes. God knew I would be queer from the moment he planned for me to exist. God does not make mistakes! This is how he made me! I will not apologize and I will not step aside and let people like you “reflect” what “God has to say.” If God didn’t want gay people, he wouldn’t have allowed us to be born. But, I will tell you one thing friend. You yourself were made to spread love and manifest the glory of God – to show by your KIND words and GENTLE actions that Jesus is the way, the truth and the light. Your comments here, degrading people for being what they were made to be are not relefting the beautiful love of our Lord. You can do better than this Tom. This is not how we bring the love of Christ to other people. You know that in your heart. Let go of the hate and do some soul searching. Because when I was in the closet and trying to be what the world wanted of me and not accepting who I am and how I was made…..My words sounded a lot like yours.

Tom your religion dictates your belief in the hate you express. Your opinion is exclusive to you. It seems you are talking to yourself… that God of your belief is as prejudice and hypocritical as you. Good luck with that.

He’s probably ashamed and repressed. He has to hate things like this because it excites him.

We’ve seen many Religious Right types “exposed” in “scandal” for following their true feelings. It’s a terrible way to go through life, living a lie.

      Let’s all pray for Tom.

Let’s all be gay- then the human race will die off and Mother Nature can begin to repair the damage.
