Fall River Police seize over $60,000, drugs, during arrest of city man

Fall River Police arrested a city man Monday on several drug and gun charges.

According to Captain Barden Castro, detectives assigned to the Vice Intelligence and Gang Unit along with agents from the United States Drug Enforcement Agency executed search warrants obtained as a result of an ongoing drug investigation involving 61-year-old city resident Jesus Manuel Sanchez Rosario.

Detectives were able to observe Sanchez Rosario engage in what officers believed was the distribution of illegal drugs. Upon encountering Sanchez Rosario, a search pursuant to a warrant was made of his vehicle where suspected drugs were found. Additionally, investigators possessed search warrants for Sanchez Rosario’s apartment as well as his storage unit. Searches at both of those locations resulted in the recovery of suspected illegal drugs, as well as a large quantity of money believed to be linked to the suspected drugs.

In total $64,966 and a stun gun were seized along with 10 lidocaine patches, 3.6 grams of crack cocaine, and 652.5 grams of fentanyl pills.

Jesus Manuel Sanchez Rosario was charged with Distribution of a class A drug, Trafficking in 200 grams or more of heroin/morphine/opium, Possession of a class B drug, Possession of a call E drug, Possession of a firearm without a FID card, and Possession of a firearm while committing a felony.
