Fall River Police, policing a neighborhood, catch two on car break-in and firearm charges

A Fall River Police officer’s observations while on patrol led to the arrest of two city residents.

According to Detective John Robinson, during the early morning hours of March 26th, Detective Moses Pereira, of the Major Crimes Division, observed suspicious activity on Kennedy Street and conducted an inquiry resulting in the arrest of two car break-in suspects and a firearm being recovered.

Robinson stated that the arrest occurred one hour before the crime was discovered and called in.

“There was good team work with assistance from Uniform Division Officer Zachary Dupere and his K-9 Lucky who were able to search for and locate a second firearm. This case is also a result of State Representative Carole Fiola obtaining a business assistance grant giving us extra resources to provide to the community.”

Interim Police Chief Charles J Cullen wants to let the citizens of Fall River know that officers are out there patrolling the streets.

“We are policing your neighborhoods day and night.”

Rachel M. Sharkey, 34 and Kevin S. Sousa, 32, both with a last known address of 255 Fountain St #2 Fall River, were arrested on a list of charges including B & E M/V Nighttime for Felony-2, Break into a Depository, Larceny of a Firearm – 2 counts, Possession of Large Capacity Firearm, Carrying a Firearm w/o License, Possession of Large Capacity Feeding Device (2 counts), Unlicensed Possession of an Assault Weapon, Possession Large Capacity Firearm, and Larceny under $1200.
