Fall River police officer placed on leave after arrest on multiple charges

An officer with the Fall River Police Department was placed on leave with pay last week after an arrest.

According to court records, 32-year-old Marc Correia was arraigned Friday in Fall River District Court and is charged with Felony Witness Intimidation, Felony Improper Storage of a Large-Capacity Firearm Near a Minor, and Misdemeanor Assault and Battery on a Family/Household Member.

Fall River Reporter made a records request with the Fall River Police Department concerning Correia’s police report and the request was denied due to Massachusetts law that states that “all reports of abuse perpetrated by family or household members and all communications between police officers and victims of such offenses or abuse shall not be public reports and shall be maintained by the police departments in a manner that shall assure their confidentiality.”

Officer Correia and his partner, K9 Satu, graduated from the Bristol County Sheriff’s Office K9 academy in September of 2021.

Correia was released on personal recognizance with a hearing date scheduled in August.

We should build a taxpayer-funded memorial to all of the #heroes produced by FRPD.

From Nick Whore to Cestodio to the one that ‘likes to watch’ men on 195 to this new guy.

You shut your cakehole, clown! Idiots like you are half the reason dirty cops get away with their CRIMES. This article hardly scratches the surface and is pretty thorough. Thank God for cameras, that’s the only reason half these clowns are being held accountable. Best advice in this article: GO STRAIGHT TO THE DA WHEN YOU CATCH A COP IN A CRIME! Clowns like you are doing a gross miservice to good cops everywhere.

So if a story is in the paper we should all mind our business? Why have a comment section then?

There is a large criminal, or at least on the finge, element operating within the FRPD and it needs to stop.

This is not an isolated incident, it’s a pattern that shows a culture or cover ups and criminal behavior being tolerated.

          Sunshine is the best disinfectant.

Did I just read rhat right?! On personal leave with pay and his record remains clean bc he was a police officer. No public record. That’s bullshit.

You did not read that right. In Massachusetts, police aren’t allowed to give media police reports on domestic incidents. Thats what it says. You did read right that he is on leave with pay.

High capacity firearm with a minor around doesn’t sound good for him not stored properly why, when you are trained and should know better. Let’s see the hows and why etc. hitting your spouse a big NO let’s see how this pans out. Never place your hands on your spouse ever. Just waiting for the facts.
