Fall River Police investigating incident involving self-inflicted gunshot wound
Fall River Police are investigating after a man was reportedly shot early Friday morning.
A call came into dispatch at approximately 3:15 a.m. for a man who had been reportedly shot in the groin area at Troy Hill Estates, 5455 North Main Street.
According to Lieutenant Jay Huard, the incident was a self-inflicted injury.
“The witnesses and victim initially lied to officers, but the investigation has revealed that it was in fact a self-inflicted injury.”
At least one rescue was sent to the scene.
The victim was transported to a local hospital.
