Fall River Police investigating early morning arson at city park
Fall River Police are investigating an arson that took place over the weekend.
A call came into dispatch from a witness at approximately 2:00 a.m. Sunday stating there was a large fire near the basketball courts at North Park on President Avenue.
Upon arrival, police and fire located a pretty large fire where the skate park is located. A second fire located inside the park put itself out, according to scanner transmissions.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze, and an arson investigator was called to the scene.
Det. Sergeant Matthew Mendes stated that no arrests have been made, and the incident is still under investigation.
