Fall River Police investigating after market break-in results in several items stolen
Police are investigating a break-in at a market in Fall River on Monday.
According to Detective Sergeant Moses Pereira, at approximately 9:30 p.m., officers responded to the PIYAY Market at 1423 Pleasant Street in response to a reported break to the business. Upon arrival, a neighbor reported hearing the sound of glass breaking.
Officers were able to confirm that the glass entry door had been broken. Although officers did not locate anyone inside the business there were obvious signs that someone had entered the business.
The business owner responded to speak with officers and was able to confirm that several items were taken from the business during the incident.
According to scanner transmissions, a cash register was stolen, however, it was not confirmed by police.
At this time, investigators are reviewing video from the area as well as the business. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Major Crimes Division at 508-324-2796.
