Fall River Police Department warning public of Facebook post scam
We continue to make the public aware of scam posts but sadly, people are still falling for them. This one may look familiar.
The Fall River Police Department has announced that it has come to theirr attention that a post has been circulating via Facebook groups.
This post alleges that a two-year-old child was brought to the police station with significant physical injuries and his identity was unknown to police.
This is a spam or clickbait post. No such incident occurred.
The same photo has been used throughout the country for several years with the location changed. Some with hundreds or thousands of shares all to scam people.
Some of the ways the post can be used to scam is they change the post to something else after a bunch of people share it. They also see the people who fell for the post and try to scam them individually.
