Fall River Police Department investigating after man transported to hospital after report of stabbing

Fall River Police are investigating after an incident that took place Tuesday evening.
According to Det. Sergeant Moses Pereira, units responded to the 200 block of Division Street just after 7:15 p.m. after receiving a report that a male had been stabbed in the area.
Upon arrival, officers located at 32-year-old male who reported that he was walking in the rain when he encountered an unknown male seated on a bench.
A verbal argument ensued, and the unknown male allegedly brandished a knife. The victim attempted to gain control of the knife and sustained a non-life-threatening injury in the process. He was transported to a local hospital for medical attention.
The investigation is ongoing.
