Fall River Police arrest two on firearm charges, one on drug distribution warrant

Fall River Police have arrested two on several gun charges, one of which had a warrant.

According to Detective Sergeant Moses Pereira, on Thursday, officers assigned to the Special Operations Division conducted a motor vehicle stop on the 600 block of Second Street, after observing an individual known to them operating in violation of a suspended license.

The operator of the motor vehicle, 37-year-old William Murchison, also had an outstanding arrest warrant for distribution of a class B drug. Murchison was taken into police custody without incident.

During the traffic stop, officers located a Polymer 80 firearm in a backpack, which was in the possession of the front seat passenger, a 17-year-old male. The juvenile was also arrested without incident.

In addition to the outstanding warrant, Murchison is charged with carrying a loaded firearm without a license to carry, possession of ammunition without an FID, carrying a firearm without a license to carry, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, and possession of a large capacity firearm.
