Fall River Police arrest three for robbery, assault Sunday evening

Fall River Police arrested three Sunday evening in an alleged robbery at a city business.

On Sunday June 3 at approximately 6:30 p.m., Officers Francisco Reis and Wendell Burks responded to Straight Shooters Billiards located at 288 Plymouth Avenue for a report of a fight outside involving a group of males.

Upon arrival, Police spoke with three victims who stated that a group of males assaulted them and stole a wallet, iPhone, and a key chain. One of the victims stated that he had mistakenly left his keys inside of a dressing room of Carter’s Clothing. When he went back into the store to locate them, they were no longer there. The victims confronted three males who were inside the store regarding the whereabouts of the keys. The males became aggressive and assaulted the victims and in the scuffle managed to steal the items mentioned. After providing a description to the police, a canvass of the area began for the suspects. Officer Joshua Carreiro, working a security detail at Stop & Shop, radioed to officers at the scene that he had three males, matching the description of the suspects, inside of the supermarket. A foot pursuit began after Raphy Veras, 18, fled from police. He was eventually captured and the victims were able to positively identify all three suspects from the incident. Veras was found in possession of the iphone and wallet.

Tomas Martinez, 23, of 55 Nightingale Street, Boston, MA:
• Unarmed Robbery
• Assault & Battery

Exavian Ortiz, 18, of 30 Mill Street, Randolph MA:
• Unarmed Robbery
• Assault & Battery
