A local man was arrested on multiple charges after an incident over the weekend.

According to Detective John Robinson, on May 2nd, at approximately 1:00 a.m., Uniform Division Officers Kenneth Medeiros, Derek Pereira, Gary Pasternak, and street supervisor Sgt. Nicholas Magan were dispatched to a Hathaway Commons Road residence in response to a complaint of a male pointing a gun at another male’s head.

Officer Pasternak, who was first to arrive on scene, detained Lyndon Campos, 52, of 454 Main Street Somerset, who was seated in a vehicle when police arrived. Officers located a holster on the passenger floor and a handgun tucked between the driver’s seat and center console of that vehicle.

Robinson stated that the victim, a 53-year-old East Freetown male, told Officer Medeiros that he was visiting with friends when Campos walked-in to their house uninvited while brandishing a small black handgun. The victim stated Campos demanded repayment of a loan that was supposed to be repaid before April 30th. According to the victim, he approached Campos and a fistfight ensued while Campos was still holding the gun. After the fight, Campos left the residence.

Campos was placed under arrest on charges of Home invasion, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, and Assault and Battery to Collect a Loan.
