Fall River Police arrest man who allegedly attempts to break into elderly woman’s home passing as maintenance worker
A man is facing charges after a Fall River woman reportedly received quite the scare.
According to Det. Sergeant Moses Pereira, on Friday at just after 3:45 p.m., units responded to an address on George Street after receiving a report of a break in progress. Call notes indicated that an elderly woman inside the home had indicated that someone was attempting to access her apartment via the air conditioning unit.
Upon arrival, officers located 37-year-old Richard Loonie attempting to pass himself off as the maintenance worker at this location. It was later confirmed through the property owner that Loonie’s statements were false.
Loonie was arrested and charged with breaking and entering in the daytime with intent to commit a felony (person in fear), and possession of a class B drug.
