Fall River Police arrest man on Most Wanted List after chase
Fall River Police have arrested a city man that was on their Most Wanted List.
According to Detective John Robinson, on Friday January 11th at approximately 5:30 p.m., Detectives of Fall River Police Departments Vice and Intelligence Unit were in the area of 135 Haffards Street performing a pre-search warrant surveillance. The target of the search warrant was Stephen Arpa, 28. Arpa was also listed on the Top Ten Most wanted by the F.R.P.D.
Lead Detective Joshua Robillard was assisted by Detectives Heather Moniz, Gary Barboza, Paul McGuire, Bryan Custadio, Richard Aguiar, Matthew Gauvin, Kwin Silva, and Detective Sergeant Thomas Mauretti.
Detective Aguiar observed Arpa walk onto Haffards Street and notified detectives who were seated in their vehicles. As Detectives exited their vehicles with their badges displayed, Arpa fled on foot. While running, Arpa threw a bundle to ground. Detective Silva was able to catch, tackle and take Arpa into custody. Detective Robillard recovered the bundle, which upon closer examination; turned out to be a bundle of suspected Heroin. During a search of Arpa, detectives seized 8 plastic bags of suspected Heroin (86.3 grams), 4 plastic bags of suspected Fentanyl (64.1 grams), 49 glassine bags of suspected Fentanyl, 243 glassine bags of suspected Heroin, 27 Zubsolv pills, cash, 2 cell phones, and 3 gift cards.
Detectives went to the apartment and executed the search warrant. Detectives located a scale, Inositol (used as a cutting agent), a large amount of empty glassine bags, elastics, 6 gift cards, and a grinder.
Arpa with a last known address of 782 Rock Street Fall River, was placed under arrest on charges of:
Trafficking Heroin/morphine/Opium and Possession to Distribute a Class B substance.
The Top Ten warrant was also served on Arpa for Trafficking in 200 grams or more of Heroin/morphine/Opium.
