Fall River Police arrest man after allegedly threatening to kill with machete-style knife if not given beer

Fall River Police arrested a city man on several charges over the weekend after an incident.
According to Sergeant Ross Aubin, on Sunday, officers responded to a report of a lethal weapon on Columbia Street, where the complainant stated that after asking a male to leave had held a machete-style knife to his neck and threatened to kill him. The complainant said the male was known to him as Alexander and added that Alexander had been asked to leave the above location. When the complainant went outside to confirm that Alexander had left the area, Alexander approached the complainant and threatened to kill him with the knife if he was not given beer. The complainant informed officers that he believed Alexander went back into the apartment.
As officers entered the building, they heard yelling and observed a male matching the suspect’s description, later identified as 24-year-old Alexander Chach-Ixcuna, being restrained by two individuals inside the apartment.
Alexander sustained a laceration on his right hand, which was treated by medics before he was transported to St. Anne’s Hospital.
Witnesses confirmed that Alexander had entered the apartment wielding a knife, yelling, “I’m going to kill you all!” at the apartment occupants, and engaged in a physical struggle before being subdued. One witness identified the confiscated knife as the weapon used in the incident.
After completing the investigation, officers arrested Alexander at St. Anne’s Hospital on multiple charges, including: Armed Assault to Murder, Armed Robbery, Home Invasion, and Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (knife).
At Tuesday’s arraignment, Chach-Ixcuna pled not guilty and was held without bail until a hearing on Wednesday.
