Fall River Police arrest juvenile on gun charges, city man on drug trafficking charges, over the weekend

Fall River Police made two arrests over the weekend concerning alleged drug trafficking and guns.

According to Lieutenant Jay Huard, on October 30, Detective Joshua Robillard along with other members of the Vice and Intelligence Unit, served a search warrant on the second floor of 236 Linden Street.

A search of the apartment revealed one plastic bag of suspected crack cocaine (19.19 grams) between the mattress and the box spring, a digital scale in a drawer, a safe in a drawer that contained five plastic bags of suspected crack cocaine (107.34 grams total) and $3,565.

The total weight of the suspected crack cocaine seized was 126.53 grams. The total amount of money seized was $4,034.00, according to Huard.

The seized currency was turned into evidence and will be held pending forfeiture proceedings.

Rakeem Tubbs, 32, of Linden Street, was charged with trafficking in cocaine in excess of 100 grams.

Also on October 30, Detective Matthew Mendes, along with members of the Gang Task Force and ATF served a search warrant at 656 Second Street.

Huard stated that a search of the apartment revealed one Silver Beretta 9mm (MOD. 92FS) semiautomatic pistol with an obliterated serial number and one 9mm round magazine, with 9 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

A 16-year-old juvenile was arrested and charged with Possession Non-Large Capacity Firearm in a Home and Possession Ammunition Without an FID Card.
