Fall River Police arrest city man on multiple gun and ammunition charges
A Fall River man has been arrested on multiple gun charges including cutting down a firearm.
According to Captain Barden Castro, at approximately 5:45 p.m., members of the Fall River Police Vice Gang and Intelligence Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in the 200 block of Osborn Street.
While inside the residence, detectives located a loaded Winchester shotgun. The shotgun appeared to be cut down in length making it a “sawed off shotgun” which is prohibited under Massachusetts law.
Also found during the search of the home was ammunition for various types of firearms.
As a result of the investigation, 30-year-old Nathan Dorego was placed under arrest, Besides his new charges stemming from this incident, Dorego was served with outstanding arrest warrants as well.
Dorego was charged with Possession of a Loaded Sawed Off Shotgun, Possession of a Firearm without an FID Subsequent Offense, Possession of Ammunition with an FID Subsequent Offense, Firearm with a Defaced Serial Number, and Firearm Violation with 1 Prior Violent Drug Crime.
