Members of both the Fall River Fire and Police departments faced off Friday night for a good cause.
The two sides squared off in a basketball game to help raise money for the Veteran Association of Bristol County at 7:00 p.m. at Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School.
In a hard-fought contest, the firefighter union edged out the police union 49-42 leaving FRFD with bragging rights for the second time after winning a flag football game last fall.
Both local unions were really winners on the night, however, as according to the firefighter union, both sides were able to raise over $2,000 for the Veterans Association of Bristol County with support from the community.
FRPD will be looking for redemption in their next yet to be released matchup.
