Fall River passes 14,000 virus cases as Southcoast dates set for walk-up vaccine clinics for 12 and up
Fall River saw more cases of COVID-19 announced on Thursday in the City of Fall River’s weekly report.
According to the Mayor’s Office, 14,030 total cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Fall River, a 98 case increase reported since last Thursday.
The 98 case count is a decrease from the 132 cases reported the previous week. 134 was reported the week prior to that.
The Fall River Health Department is in contact with the individuals who have tested positive as well as their contacts.
Deaths in Fall River contributed to COVID-19 increased to 372 as 1 new death has been reported since May 6th. 2 deaths were reported last week.
Southcoast Health announced on Thursday that its upcoming Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccination clinics, offered across the region, will now be open to individuals 12 and older, while walk-up availability will continue at all of the not-for-profit community health system’s sites.
Southcoast’s decision follows the FDA’s Emergency Use Authorization of the Pfizer vaccine for 12- to 15-year-olds earlier this week, as well as the CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices’ recommendation on Wednesday.
Minors will need to have a parent or legal guardian sign a Massachusetts consent form at the clinic or bring a signed copy downloaded from https://www.mass.gov/lists/ma-consent-forms-for-people-under-18-years-of-age, Southcoast officials said. The form must include a parent or legal guardian’s phone number in the event a staff member needs to contact them.
You do not need to have a Southcoast primary care provider to receive vaccination at a Southcoast clinic.
No appointment will be necessary at the following Southcoast clinics, with walk-ups welcome:
