A Fall River man who has been chasing his dream of netting a UFC deal can now call himself a UFC fighter.

Mitch Raposo, who fights out of the Regiment Training Center, will make his UFC debut in a week and a half on June 1st at UFC 302 at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

The 9-1 Raposo will replace Nyamjargal Tumendemberel who had to withdraw from the fight against 8-0 Andre Lima.

Earlier this month it was announced that Raposo would once again fight in Dana White’s Contender Series in August.

Raposo is 25 years old, and a graduate from Durfee High School. Mitch started training at 12 years old and has won multiple championships in kickboxing, wrestling, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. At 18 he started fighting in MMA where he won the Cage Titans Flyweight Championship on April 14, 2018.

According to CNN, Lima was bit on the arm in his UFC debut in March by Igor Severino earning him his first UFC victory by disqualification to stay undefeated.

Raposo’s fight against Lima will be the first bout on the card on UFC Fight Pass, ESPN+ at 6:00 p.m.
