A Fall River man who was killed late Sunday night is being remembered as someone who will not be forgotten.

On Sunday night shortly before 9:15 p.m., Fall River Police responded to a report of a stabbing victim just outside of the cafe. When first responders arrived, they located the victim, later identified as 58-year-old Antonio Santos, suffering from apparent stab wounds. Santos was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital, where he died during surgery shortly before midnight.

News of Santos’ death quickly spread on Monday and those who knew him were recalling the man that left their lives so tragically and suddenly.

Friends of Santos, known by most as “Tony”, told Fall River Reporter that he was an amazing man and very well liked. They also told us that he had recently became a grandfather for the first time just a few months ago.

Santos’ family stated that the former Durfee High student owned and operated Santos Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Service. He was known as Mr. Fix-It and he graciously fixed almost anything for others.

Tony was a dog lover that enjoyed fishing, cooking, listening to oldies music, and watching old westerns/comedies. To give you more of a glimpse into the man, he watched “It’s a Wonderful Life” every year at Christmas.

While it is clear that Tony will be missed, and his friends and family rightly want him to be remembered, what those who knew him want the most is for Tony’s killer to be brought to justice.
