Fall River man sentenced, pleads guilty to lesser charge of Manslaughter in stabbing death of city man

A Fall River man pled guilty and has been sentenced in the stabbing death of a 58-year-old Fall River man.

According to court records, Jordan Gottlieb pleaded guilty Friday morning to a lesser charge of Manslaughter after originally being charged with Murder. He was sentenced to not less than 15 years to not more than 20 years with a credit of 946 days served.

According to authorities, on August 21st, 2022, shortly before 9:15 p.m., Fall River Police responded to a report of a stabbing victim just outside of Latino’s Cafe. When first responders arrived, they located the victim, later identified as Antonio Santos, suffering from apparent stab wounds. Santos was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital, where he died during surgery shortly before midnight.

According to ABC6, prosecutors stated that Santos and Gottlieb reportedly had a brief argument outside of the bar and then parted ways.

Gottlieb was later seen back at the area and attacking Santos with his own knife. Santos was found on the ground covered in blood with a taser and folding knife near him.

The District Attorney’s Office believes that the pair knew each other.

Gottlieb was arrested on August 24th, 2022, on Rodman Street in the vicinity of the Stop & Shop grocery store on an unrelated warrant out of New Bedford.
