Fall River man held without bail, facing list of firearm charges, after seizure of gun, ammunition

Fall River Police arrested a city man on over a half dozen firearm-related charges.

According to police, on Thursday, with the assistance of the Emergency Services Unit, the Community Action & Suppression Team (C.A.S.T.) executed a search warrant at a residence on Pulaski Street. The target of the search warrant was 21-year-old Devin Alves.

As a result of the search warrant, detectives located a Palmetto State Armory short-barreled rifle equipped with a 30-round magazine containing 30 live .300 Blackout rounds, as well as a suppressor.

Detectives also located a black powder revolver, 9mm ammunition, and a Taurus TX .22 Long Rifle magazine inside the residence.

Alves was placed under arrest and transported to the Fall River Police Department, where he was charged with:

• Possess Large Capacity Firearm

• Possess Firearm Without LTC/FID card

• Possess Ammunition without LTC/FID

• Firearm Violation with 1 Prior Violent/Drug Crime

• Possession of a Silencer

• Possess Large Capacity Feeding Device

• Improper Storage of a Large Capacity Firearm

Court records show that at arraignment in Fall River District Court on Thursday, Alves pled not guilty and was being held without bail. He also had his bail revoked for 120 days concerning a separate case that is still pending.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
