On 10/23/17 at approximately 0600 AM, the Swansea Police Department arrested Michael D. Chenard, 47, of 177 Lindsey St Fall River, Massachusetts on several counts of B&E to a motor vehicle in the night time.

In response to multiple reports of mostly unlocked vehicles being entered over the past several weeks, the Swansea Police began an investigation which included patrol officers using alternative and directed patrol methods throughout the town.

Chenard’s vehicle was eventually stopped by Patrolman Thomas Nolan and further investigation led to the recovery of numerous items that were confirmed to have been stolen that morning.

Chenard was placed under arrest and transported to the station where he was processed.

A follow up investigation and search warrants by Swansea Detectives Keith Chomka and Joey Faria resulted in multiple car B&E’s being solved in Swansea and surrounding communities including Dighton, Berkeley, and Somerset.

Also taking part in the directed patrols and investigation were Swansea officers Sgt.Patrick Mooney, Sgt. Joseph Martin, Patrolman Charles Rowland, Patrolman Sheila Valero, Patrolman Kyle Harmon and Patrolman Donald Dibiasio.
