Fall River man arrested on multiple gun and drug charges Wednesday

A city man has been arrested on multiple charges by Fall River Police.

According to Lieutenant Jay D. Huard, on June 3, the Vice and Intelligence Unit detectives, led by lead investigator Detective Joshua Robillard executed a search warrant on the second floor of 770 Plymouth Avenue. The target of the search warrant was 47-year-old Dwayne Parrish.

Detectives were conducting pre-search warrant surveillance and observed Parrish approach the intersection of Plymouth Avenue and Tecumseh Street. Police stated that Parrish interacted with a male on a moped and was approached and detained by detectives. A brief search of Parrish yielded one small plastic bag containing suspected heroin (1 gram).

A subsequent search of the apartment yielded a small amount of heroin, two digital scales, several empty plastic bags, and a KAHR magazine containing 6 live cartridges of ammunition (.40 caliber).

Located in the basement of the apartment building were a .40 caliber KAHR Arms firearm and a Sentry safe.

Five round KAHR magazine containing five live cartridges (.40 caliber), a pistol holster, 7 live cartridges (.40 caliber) in a box and 50 live cartridges in an ammunition case were found in the safe.

According to police, Parrish does not possess a valid License to Carry or an FID Card.

Parrish was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card, Possession of a Class A substance, and Firearm violation with two prior violent/drug crimes.
