Fall River man arrested on motor vehicle and drug charges
fall River police arrested a city man on multiple charges last week.
According to Detective John Robinson, on Thursday, May 16th, Detectives from The Fall River Police Departments Vice and Intelligence Unit were on pre-search warrant surveillance in the area of 133 McGowan Street. The target of the search warrant was Luis A. Cruz, 37, of 133 McGowan Street. Lead Detective Heather Moniz was assisted by Detective Sergeant William Falandys, Detectives Gary Barboza, Richard Aguiar, Kwin Silva, Josh Robillard, and Tryce Grant.
At approximately 2:30 p.m., Detective Barboza observed Cruz operating a Brown Ford Explorer east on McGowan Street. Cruz is known to have a revoked license status according to FRPD. The Explorer was stopped and Cruz was taken into custody. Cruz was informed of the search warrant and escorted to his residence.
Once inside the residence, the warrant was executed by police. During the search, Detectives located a pill bottle stuffed between the sofa cushions. Inside the bottle were 37 individual rocks of suspected crack cocaine. Detectives confiscated 396 dollars located on top of the kitchen cabinet as well as 25 dollars from Cruz’s pocket.

Possession to Distribute Class B Substance – Subsequent offense
Operate a Motor Vehicle with Revoked License – Subsequent offense
