Fall River man arrested on home invasion, assault and battery charges after vodka fight leads to stabbing
A Fall River man was arrested on multiple charges after a stabbing on Sunday.
A call came into dispatch at approximately 4:00 p.m. concerning a victim being stabbed concerning a fight over a vodka bottle in the 200 block of Linden Street.
According to Captain Jay Huard, 58-year-old Fall River resident, Richard Cowen of High Street, had been drinking with friends and was thrown out of the apartment.
Cowen forgot his vodka bottle and allegedly returned to the scene and forced his way into the apartment.
A fight ensued after the break-in and the occupant of the apartment was sliced on his hand with a knife, according to Huard.
Cowen left the scene after the reported stabbing and was located walking in the area. Police stated that the knife was found in his possession.
Cowen was arrested on charges of Home Invasion and Assault and Battery with a dangerous weapon.
