A Fall River man was arrested this week after making threats on social media.
According to Detective John Robinson, on February 18th at approximately 2:30 p.m. a female complainant came into the Fall River Police Department alleging that Joseph Anctil, 31, of 81 Plain Street Fall River, had posted on a social media platform threats toward her and the city. Those threats included ‘to make bombs, to blow up a former employer, to blow up the city car by car, to buy a gun, and to kill the receptionist at the employment agency that hired him and fired him two weeks later. Anctil named the person, saying he was going to go to her place of work because he knew she worked alone, walk in, lock the door, and strangle her in the back room. Anctil also named a specific city business and threatened to blow it up. Officers viewed the Social-media posting provided by the complainant.
Officers located Anctil at his residence and took him into custody.
