Administrative Secretary I, Front Desk, DIA – EO of Labor & Work Dvlpmnt (Fall River)
$46,817 – $64,932 a year – Part-time

The Department of Industrial Accidents (DIA) administers the Commonwealth’s Workers’ Compensation system, to ensure that employees who sustain an occupational injury or illness are provided with prompt, fair compensation and reasonable and necessary medical treatment while balancing the needs of employers and insurers.

The incumbent will work under the direction of the Fall River Regional Manager and provide backup for the Administrative Assistant II in performing all support duties for the regional office and front desk operations. Receives and screens visitors and telephone calls, compose and/or prepare correspondence, maintains files, records, collects daily/monthly statistical data and performs other duties as assigned.

This position requires knowledge of the Workers’ Compensation system.

Qualifications
• First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days.
• Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and (A) at least three (3) years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in clerical or secretarial work or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below.

Substitution:
• An Associate’s degree or higher may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience.
