Fall River hopes to strike gold again with new Amazon bid

Published

on

Fall River is one of several Massachusetts cities making bids to house Amazon’s new $5 billion headquarters. This is a monumental venture that would bring 50,000 new jobs to the area. Amazon currently only has one headquarters located in Seattle, Washington where the company was founded by Jeff Bezos in 1994.

Ken Fiola, EVP of the Fall River Office of Economic Development, hopes the success of Amazon’s BOS7 Fulfillment Center recently opened on Innovation Way will garner closer consideration from the E-Commerce giants. Other towns and cities rumored to be bidding on the site include Worcester, Boston, Taunton and Weymouth. The deadline for bids is October 19.

Has Amazon’s presence in Fall River lived up to your expectations? Do you or someone you know work at the fulfillment center? Share your experience in the comments!
