Fall River firefighter’s sentimental hat has been found
UPDATE: Brian Platt has reported that his hat has been found.
“A woman called and said she found it on Thames St. in Newport, RI. She’s in NYC for the weekend. We are meeting in Providence on Monday, where she’ll give the hat to me. Restores one’s faith in people. There’s a lot of very good people out there still! Thank you for your help.”
According to Newport Police and Lt Platt, on St. Patrick’s Day a fire fighters dress hat was taken while at the West Deck.
Fall River Fire Lt. Brian Platt put out a Facebook post requesting the return of the hat due to sentimental value:
“Fire Lieutenant’s hat with my lost brother’s Mass cards tucked inside. Now that I have your attention…
On Saturday March 17, 2018 St Patrick’s Day, after the parade. My hat was taken from my head at West Deck in Newport, RI. by a young woman. Mistakes happen, but for sentimental reasons, I would just like my hat back… no questions asked. Please return to any Fall River Fire Station or contact me through fb or at 508 264- 9276. Lt Brian Platt of the Fall River Fire Department.”
