Fall River fire crews quickly extinguished a morning fire on Friday.

According to Deputy Neil Furtado, a room and contents fire call came into dispatch at just after 7:30 a.m. for 45 Linden Street.

Arriving crews were able to make an aggressive interior attack. The result was a rapid extinguishment of a bedroom fire on the 3rd floor.

Engine 2, 9, 12, platform 1, Ladder 4, and Heavy Rescue 1 all performed extinguishment operations with car 2 taking command. Units from Fall River EMS as well as Fall River Police Department assisted with medical and traffic control during the incident.

At this time, no injuries were reported, and one pet cat was saved during the incident.

Smoke alarms were sounding and prompted the homeowner to call 911.

Furtado stated that 3 families have been displaced at this time with the hope that the 2nd and 1st floor will be able to reoccupy the building soon.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
