Fall River firefighters extinguish flames at two 3-story homes in the matter of hours

The Fall River Fire Department extinguished their second residential fire in just a few hours on Friday.

According to scanner transmissions, at approximately 1:00 a.m., a call came into dispatch for smoke filling a room at a second-floor apartment at 101 Fenner Street.

Upon arrival, crews encountered flames showing from the roofline and back deck of the 3-story residential structure.

Another engine was requested to the scene as crews knocked down the flames.

A medic was also called to the scene for a civilian.

A fire investigator and the building department were called to the scene.

Firefighters had battled another blaze just before 6:00 p.m. on Thursday on Bradford Avenue.
