Fall River firefighters extinguish heavy fire in afternoon blaze at triple decker residence

Fall River firefighters extinguished a blaze late Thursday afternoon.

According to scanner transmissions, just before 5:45 p.m. a call came into dispatch for flames coming from a second-floor window at 110 Braford Avenue across from Kennedy Park.

Upon arrival, crews found heavy flames and smoke showing from the 3-story residence.

The fire was quickly knocked down and crews checked for fire in the walls and the attic.

A fire investigator and utilities were called to the scene.
