Fall River Fire Department extinguishes morning fire at department store

Firefighters made quick work of an early morning fire at a Fall River Department store.

At just after 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, a call came into dispatch for a fire that had broken out in the rear of the Burlington Coat Factory at 181 Mariano Bishop Blvd.

The fire was quickly extinguished before it could spread and cause significant damage, according to the Fall River Firefighter Union.

The blaze possibly originated from a large commercial floor washer.

The store is currently closed.
