Fall River Fire battle second major fire in under 24 hours, two to hospital

The Fall River Fire Department is currently battling a second major fire in as many days.

The multi-family home at 2332 South Main Street had a second alarm fire just before noon on Saturday. Upon arrival, fire was showing on the right side of the structure. All occupants were evacuated from the building. The crew knocked the fire quickly and proceeded to put out hot spots.

According to WSAR, Fall River Fire Chief John Lynch is indicating that one man suffered burns and the victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital.

One officer was transported with smoke inhalation.

The American Red Cross is assisting displaced residents of the structure as all of the apartments received damage from the blaze.
