Fall River family who lost cat due to shooting, receives new kitten
A happier ending to what was a sad story out of Fall River.
Thanks to the RSPCA, a Fall River family has a new cat after tragedy and heartbreak struck.
Earlier this month, the family discovered on Pokross Street that their pet cat Bella had been shot. The pellet was discovered in the cat’s spine which paralyzed the pet. Sadly, Bella had to be put down.
Mother Jade Barreto said her son found the cat shot and it had left the children devastated.
“I’m just so hurt. To raise a kitten to old age and have this happen. I am shocked. She had a lot of life left in her. She didn’t deserve this.”
They now however have a three month old cat named Katy.
While the family is still looking for justice for Bella, Barreto couldn’t be happier about the new member of the family.
“Having Katy in our home is great and she is microchipped ?. I am grateful for the RSPCA for providing us with Katy! She is the healing we needed. She will be indoors only. She is safe and has a forever home with us. We are thankful and happy. It doesn’t replace our Bella, but we are smiling again and have tears of joy today! Thank you to those who have supported us in still finding justice for Bella and for sharing tears with us. It helps us so much to know all of you feel our pain. Now feel our joy and keep hope we can find justice for Bella! She is never forgotten!”
“Thank you Fall River Reporter for helping! It’s due to your page that the story spread! I am grateful!”
