Fall River Educators Association makes call to action over possible Tansey relocation

Published

on

The Fall River Educators Association issued a call to action over the weekend to mobilize members to attend Fall River Public School Committee meeting scheduled for tonight.

The move comes after parents and educators learned that changes may be coming to Tansey Elementary school after it was discussed as a potential option at a Special/Alternative Education and Early Childhood Subcommittee meeting last week. Among the topics discussed was expanding the city’s pre-k program.

Tonight’s meeting is being held at 5:30 PM at Durfee High School. Fall River Reporter will be in attendance. Follow our live tweets for up to the minute coverage here.

Thank you for your report. I attended Monday’s school committee meeting. I feel a sense of pride, for my own representation of the Tansey Elementary Community, as well as the large number of parents, faculty, students, alumni, and others, who also care deeply about this issue. Shame on the committee for its blatant backroom scheming, and, boy! was it fun to witness the backpedaling!
