Fall River eatery offering free pizza slice meal for school aged kids with school lunches coming to an end

A Fall River eatery is looking to keep kids fed as the dog days of summer approach.

Christopher’s at 1815 South Main Street posted on social media Monday that due to school being let out soon, they wanted to make sure that students are still eating lunch.

“A mover and a shaker to me is someone who does what needs to be done not what has already been done for you. So, in that spirit we are again this year offering a free slice of pizza, a fruit, and bottled water to school aged kids for the summer. For some, being in school is the only meal they may get for the day, and we are not fans of that so starting June 18 we are offering this pizza slice meal from 11-12:30 Tuesday thru Friday for the summer. Totally on us. Summers can be loads of fun but not if you’re missing a meal that was routine in school. Keep people safe, cleaned, fed, educated and the future starts to look brighter.”

After the eatery issued the news, residents and customers applauded Christopher’s for the kind gesture.

Christopher’s is known for a rotating menu of Breakfast Items, Fresh Baked Goods, Breads, Croissants, Bagels, Pretzels, Salads, To Go Meals, Gourmet Sandwiches, Iced/Hot Coffee, House Made Soups, Charcuterie Boards, Cakes, Pies, Pastries, and a variety of Cookies and Desserts from around the world. It is co-owned by Christopher and Nathan Silvia.
