Fall River COVID-19 daily cases increase sharply in Tuesday report

Fall River has seen more confirmed positive cases of COVID-19.

38 additional cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Fall River, according to the Mayor’s Office. This brings the total in Fall River to 1,042.

The death toll from the coronavirus in Fall River remains at 22.

The Fall River Health Department is in contact with the individuals who have tested positive as well as their contacts.

Wednesday saw an increase of 97 reported cases and three more deaths. Thursday’s numbers revealed 18 additional cases and two more deaths, bring the total fatalities to 19. Friday, 33 more cases were announced in addition to the city’s twentieth death. Saturday saw a reduction with 26 new cases announced. Sunday’s report added 25 more cases. Monday revealed 14 more cases of the coronavirus

Governor Charlie Baker announced the extension of the state’s non-essential business closures and stay at-home advisory until May 18, 2020. Government Center will be closed to the public until this advisory is lifted.

The Mayor continues to encourage residents to practice social distancing. This means keeping a distance of 6ft between individuals. Coogan states that he also wants Fall Riverites to continue to wash your hands on a regular basis, clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces, and stay home as much as possible, especially when you are sick, and wear a face covering when out in public.

The City of Fall River wants to remind residents that the Online Payments Center gives residents a way to pay bills online 24-hours a day, 7-days a week. Real Estate, Personal Property, Motor Vehicle Excise, Boat Excise Taxes and Public Utility payments are accepted. There is also a drop-off box on the Third Street Entrance of Government Center where residents can drop their payments in sealed envelopes.
