It is supposed to be a day that you will never forget. For a newly married Fall River couple, that statement provides new meaning.

Lake Pearl Wrentham caught on fire Friday night during Rebecca and Louis Alexander’s wedding reception. According to the establishment, there was a small electrical fire. No one was injured and the fire was quickly controlled. That did however cause an issue.

How can the wedding reception continue? Just a slight change to the location.

Rebecca decided that due to the unfortunate incident, they could just move the reception outdoors and that is exactly what they did.

As Chief Bill McGrath put it, the bride decided to make lemonade out of lemons which allowed the party to keep going strong. Chief McGrath even snapped a video of the new outdoor festivities.

We contacted Rebecca and she really did take everything in stride.

“We are just glad everyone is safe. All thanks to God. We still had a blast. Nothing could have ruined our day. We truly are grateful for all of our family and friends who stayed to celebrate with us. We are especially thankful to the Lake Pearl staff, Wrentham PD, Wrentham FD, and everyone else who saved our day. We are just happy to be married and that everyone is safe.”

Putting a positive spin on a rough situation has left the Alexander’s with a story to pass down the family tree for years to come.
