Fall River continues trend of single digit COVID-19 case counts in Sunday report

Fall River has seen more cases of COVID-19 Sunday.

5 new cases have been reported in Fall River, according to the Mayor’s Office. This makes the total in Fall River stand at 1,588.

The Fall River Health Department is in contact with the individuals who have tested positive as well as their contacts.

The death toll from the coronavirus in Fall River remains at 101 as the City does not receive fatality reports on the weekend.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health started reporting both confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases and deaths dating back to March 1, 2020.

Monday revealed 8 COVID-19 cases. Tuesday saw 2 more cases. Wednesday’s cases actually decreased due to address corrections. On Thursday, 4 cases were reported. Friday revealed 8 additional cases. On Saturday, 5 new cases were revealed.

Today it was announced that the Fall River fireworks have been added to the long list of cancelled events this summer due to COVID-19.

Governor Charlie Baker signed an executive order on May 1, 2020 requiring face coverings in public places where social distancing is not possible. This order is effective May 6, 2020 and will remain in effect until rescinded or until the emergency is terminated
