Fall River continues single digit COVID-19 case reports as death toll increases to 96

Fall River has seen more positive cases of COVID-19 Sunday.

8 additional cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Fall River, according to the Mayor’s Office. This makes the total in Fall River stand at 1,566.

The Fall River Health Department is in contact with the individuals who have tested positive as well as their contacts.

The death toll from the coronavirus in Fall River increased to 96 as the City received notification of 4 more fatalities from over the weekend.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health started Monday reporting both confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases and deaths dating back to March 1, 2020.

Both Tuesday and Wednesday saw 3 more COVID-19 cases each day. Thursday’s report revealed 6 more cases and Friday saw one additional case. 6 more cases were reported on Saturday. Sunday saw 2 reported cases.

Governor Charlie Baker signed an executive order on May 1, 2020 requiring face coverings in public places where social distancing is not possible. This order is effective May 6, 2020 and will remain in effect until rescinded or until the emergency is terminated.
