Fall River confirmed COVID-19 cases drops to 178

According to Mayor Coogan, the City of Fall River is down 4 positive cases from yesterday making the total identified number of cases of COVID-19 in Fall River 178. 82 individuals have recovered. The Fall River Health Department is in contact with the individuals who have tested positive as well as their contacts. These individuals are in isolation and quarantine.

Coogan stated in an interview with Fall River Reporter Thursday that 9 patients were in critical condition in Fall River concerning COVID-19.

Fall River had seen the biggest one day total on Sunday with 25. Only 5 additional cases were released on Monday and 8 were seen on Tuesday. 11 confirmed cases were reported on Wednesday with the city’s first fatality. Yesterday revealed 17 more cases with 2 more deaths.

The Fall River Health Department is in contact with the individuals who have tested positive as well as their contacts. These individuals are in isolation and quarantine.

Mayor Coogan’s Office continues to encourage residents to practice social distancing. This means keeping a distance of 6 feet between individuals. Continue to wash your hands on a regular basis, clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces, and stay home as much as possible, especially when you are sick. These measures will help to limit the spread of COVID-19.

Library: While the Library remains closed until May 4th the return receptacles are also closed. Please hold onto any items you have. There will be no fines associated with your library items during this period of closure.

Bill pay: Residents are urged to pay bills using the online bill paying systems. Residents can also mail bills or utilize the drop box on the Third Street entrance of Government Center.

Government Center, the Public Libraries, Senior Centers and Schools will remain closed until May 4th.
